The Gipsy Kings and their “Spanish flamenco / Romani rhapsody meets salsa funk” style tore down the house at Chastain Park in Atlanta on August 15.
Dancing in the aisles was not a figure of speech at this show. It was hard to see the stage sometimes because of the mass of bodies moving to the music, but in steps, not just as at most shows where people are grooving but it’s not in a way that there exist instruction books that teach it. A beautiful night of perfect, appropriately, South of France weather was the pleasant backdrop to this show of true musicians from the Reyes and Baliardo families.
